This is your chance to get a glimpse into my brain!

Amongst the millions of things on my brain, the one that I want to share with you today is the idea of...

La Vie En Rose.

Life in Pink.

Music in Video by Edith Piaf

Are you viewing life through rose colored glasses?

I am. And I love it. Generally speaking I am an optimistic person. I typically look at a situation and have a pretty positive outlook on it. I truly believe life is too precious not to. And nothing good comes from negativity anyway, so what's the point?

But what's really great, is when others see you, with the same rose colored glasses that you see others with.

I recently received one of the greatest testimonials from one of my longest standing client's.

Because this blog is here to support, encourage and inspire others, I feel I must share it with you all. Plus it's pretty cool to know that my hard work really is having an impact.

"Hi Lily,

Great catching up with you today. Regarding your question about ROI, the most recent explainer video you produced for us returned 10x, which was superior. For reference, it outproduced our static assets by a 3 to 1 margin. So, a huge win for us.

As a former Marketing VP with a penchant for statistical analysis, ROI is a topic that always interests me. There are so many factors outside of you control that affect ROI (marketing media placement, target audience, timing, costs, attribution, etc.) that ultimately it is the customer’s responsibility.

Your responsibility is to do a great job cost effectively. To that end, there is a reason I have been using you at 3 different companies for over 15 years now. Over that time, I have been with companies that had large internal production staffs and you are better than all of them. A production/design professionals job is to understand the customer’s vision, project goal and then messaging goal to use art (pics, animation, vids, graphics) to bring it to life…and to do so cost effectively. You have always been very efficient, often completing work in ½ to 1/3 the time of others.

As I have been known to say to penny pinching associates, usually operations and finance people who do not understand the creative production process; What’s the use of hiring someone at a 50% lower hourly rate when the project takes twice as long and comes out half as good." - Mike Mehlmann, Co-Owner of BassForecast

Having a positive attitude and being optimistic is crucial when running your own business. It's the hope that the "next opportunity might be the one" that keeps you going. But it's up to you to keep the faith that you are being guided by a greater force (for me, by God), towards your destiny, and to go for it! You have to try in order to succeed. And you might as well try having rose gold vision, in the process! It just makes everything more fun.

Until the next blog...stay Modest, but be BOLD & LIVE LA VIE EN ROSE!
